Clinical Audit Each pharmacy is required to undertake a survey on an annual basis using the findings to improve the services. Each year pharmacies are required to conduct one practice-based and one PCT determined Multidiscipilinary Audit (to aid the development of the working team) These audits have to assist in developing better patient care and be completed in five days of pharmacists time. Patient Safety Incident Reporting
Home page click here PSNC and the NPSA have been working together to create a culture of proactive incident reporting. An important aspect of the NPSA's work is the collation of reports of patient safety incidents which have occurred within NHS care settings. The NPSA is then able to distil learning from these reports. Part of the new contract community pharmacies have to report patient safety incidents to the NPSA. To facilitate the collection and recording of the information needed to report an incident to the NPSA a form has been produced which community pharmacies may choose to use.
