Closure of Pharmacy in an Emergency or Severe Weather Conditions

Copies of the relevant PCT's guidance and notification forms are below - remember to call the Shift Manager of Devon Doctors Control Centre 01392 823174 so that the appropriate bases across the county may be notified. Devon Doctors are assuming that normal pharmacy times will apply unless otherwise informed through this communication route.

The Care Trust have issued the following;

The current extreme weather conditions mean that many organisations have had to or are considering the implementation of contingency or business continuity plans. Whilst we would expect that every effort is made to ensure that contractual obligations are met, we recognise that should the current conditions continue or deteriorate further that this could affect the ability to fulfil these obligations.

Where difficulties are being experienced, due to exceptional circumstances, and the implementation of a contingency plan is being considered, pharmacies should contact Torbay Care Trust immediately either by telephoning 01803 210500 and asking to speak to a member of the Primary Care Team or by email to primarycarereports.tct@nhs.net In urgent circumstances outside of normal working hours - telephone 01803 614567 and ask for the Torbay Care Trust On Call Manager.
