NOVEMBER 2011

10 November - Press cuttings from Peterborough papers regarding 'Ask Your Pharmacist Week'.

10 November - Medicine Supply Chain Problems  You will be aware of The Secretary Of State Andrew Lansley's dismissal of pharmacies' medicines supply chain problems.  I request that you consider writing to your constituent MP  to raise his/her awareness of any supply issues affecting  constituents.  Please state the problems community pharmacists face daily in obtaining life saving medicines.   Refer to Andrew Lansley's dismissal of the problem and state clearly the problem has not resolved, and give brief examples of current supply issues and the impact it is having on constituents. Urge your MP to take this matter up with The Secretary of State as a matter of urgency. Please let me know how your MP responds.  Tim Richards, Chair

JANUARY 2012

16 January - Reminder sent to all contractors to return verification of contact details slip mailed out last week.  As the LPC now sends all information via e-mail it is important that we have a current e-mail address for all pharmacies.  It is also important that the PCT has a current e-mail address, as they too send out information via e-mail.

16 January - Patient Alerts  It has come to our attention that some pharmacies are not receiving alert notices from Anglia Support Partnership.  Please note that these alerts can be sent out via fax or e-mail.   If you are not receiving these alerts in your pharmacy please contact ASP via e-mail asppcspatientalerts@nhs.net to give them either your pharmacy fax number or e-mail address.

16 January -  PCL(s): 005/12 Information Governance: Business Continuity Requirement Update.

16 January - Specials   As many of us are still getting to grips with the regulations about 'specials', please note the following extract from the electronic Drug Tariff: "At the end of each month, the contractor shall send a copy of the appropriately endorsed COA/COC/invoice to the PCT of the prescriber, allowing the PCT to match expenditure to the special supplied".

17 January - NHS Peterborough Education Event - Supporting Carers and People with a Learning Disability.  Download details.
